PARTING THE WATERS AND THE PARTING OF WAYS

With all the rain we have been having it does feel like we would need to part the waters to get out and about and to find our way.  Well, we have shared the experience of a total eclipse this week, for some of us something we may not see again in our lifetime.  We have been through another blessed holiday season and are on the cusp of one of the best Spring Seasons ever; plenty of rain and sunshine to come, and with plantings in hand and bikes on the path, summer is just around the other corner.

Our fully staffed, qualified and good-looking board has always got your back, maintaining public properties, keeping up with mailbox maintenance, ensuring curb appeal is high with reminders to keep dumpsters out of sight and trailers, boats and RVs not parked overnight.

Cheri is renewing the contract with our landscape management company to maintain the entranceways and mow the perimeter lawns.  Brandon and Afton have dealt wonderfully with all the architectural applications submitted.  Eitan is the Regent of the Records as secretary, noting all meeting minutes and keeping our archived documents intact.  Treasurer Nicole as ever keeps our financial records and billing up to date, and Vice President Danielle still helms our Welcoming Committee and the Yard of the Week.

Lantern Farms is looking for volunteers to serve on various committees, including Welcoming Committee, Social Committee, Communications and others.  There is always as well an opportunity to serve on the board as a member at large.

You have seen signs up for our next annual meeting on April 16 at 7 pm at the Delaware Township Building on 131st St. adjacent to the Nickel Plate Trail.  Please come or sign the proxy for a neighbor to bring, in order for us to gather together at least once a year to get updated on any issues.  This is also a great time to bring in payment for your $200 dues.

I had volunteered to serve as president back in the summer of 2020 during the height of COVID when I saw a repeated vacancy for president and vice president for quite a long while.  Typically, a resident will volunteer to be a board member for a term of three years and serve one year as president on a rotational basis with other board members.

I have had the good fortune to be president for four years, but this will be my last meeting as a board member or as president.  Danielle has agreed to move from vice president to president while still holding down the Yard of the Week and the Welcoming Committee.

I have been blessed to work with great neighbor volunteers on the board who make everything work so well and who have the even harder job of making my job so much easier than can be imagined.  All of them are serving their three-year term, however Cheri and Nicole have been on the board as long as myself but have thankfully agreed to stay on as well.

I encourage you each to come to our annual meeting, give us a chance to shake hands, ask and answer questions and get caught up on your neighborhood, your families, your community.

Just part the waters and find your way, follow the light to Lantern Farms.

I hope to see your there.

John Riggio President Lantern Farms Property Owners Association
