The Public Works & Safety Board meeting to review the second round of small cell structures has been postponed until on Monday, May 4 at 10AM. The original date was this coming Monday, April 27. We understand that some of our residents have some concerns about structure placement or aesthetics. We are working closely with Verizon to ensure our residents are heard. In an effort to address these concerns, the City would like to gather feedback and recommendations from the community. I have attached the list of proposed locations for the second batch of structures. The interactive map on our website will provide a better indication of placement of all pending structures to date. Click on the location to get permit number and assigned address. The Public Works & Safety Board agenda will include more detailed plans of the structure design and location.

After reviewing the list, please use the following form to submit public comments and suggest new locations. Click here to submit a comment. These comments will be reviewed before the meeting & considered during the final approval. Please include structure address or permit number (i.e. ROW-2020) on the public comment form.

The City of Fishers recommends that our community follow the recently released guidelines to avoid gatherings and meeting due to the risk of COVID-19. For those interested in providing public comments, the City of Fishers established a form to submit your comment(s), which will be read during the board meeting. The Public Works & Safety Board meeting will be live-streamed for residents to tune in at home. Recorded videos are available 24 to 48 hours following the meeting on the City of Fishers’ YouTube channel.

We will strive to have the best outcome for both our community and this technology. Unfortunately, the State & Federal Government has restricted local cities from making a decision on rather or not these structures can be erected. We communicated to each property owner impacted (within 200 feet of a structure) by this telecommunication structure placement. The city will also provide updates and details about this deployment on our website, www.fishers.in.us/5G . Here you will find more materials about this technology, permit activity, laws and regulations.

Kind regards,
