Is This Another Spring Message

I sit and watch the winds billow the branches, shaking loose crab apple blossoms, the warm, fragrant  petals spinning to the ground.  Our garden ground has been turned and tilled, our new hoses unwrapped to stretch out across the lawn like creeping vines.  After what may be considered a half-hearted winter we look forward to a full-blown spring.  Newness abounds.

Such is life in Lantern Farms.  Our 85 homes stand ground but the families inside change like the seasons.  We have seen so many neighbors go, so many neighbors come. This is an exciting time.  We have seen similar changes on the board.  Over half the board has been replaced with new blood coming in with new ideas and energy.  We want to thank Jeff Pratt for serving so many years as Secretary, Peter Merante as our most effective administrator, Hatem Mekky as our Fishers government liaison and Garth Powell as chief on our Architectural Committee.  All four of these people have done much to maintain the value and integrity of our Lantern Farms neighborhood.

We wish to welcome our four new board members who will bring a wealth of knowledge and fresh perspective to further enhance the effectiveness of the board.  Danielle Fuller has already been serving on our Welcoming Committee and has enthusiastically joined our team.  Eitan Gordon is our next-door neighbor and will most ably fill Jeff's shoes as secretary.  Afton Ketcher and Brandon McFarlin is the couple who have joined the board and already had some experience to most adeptly step into the open Architectural Committee open positions.

We have our annual meeting coming up this Tuesday April 18 at 7 pm at the Delaware Township building right down 131st St. by the Nickel Plate trail.  Please come or send a proxy form with a neighbor to meet the new board members, hear about updates within Lantern Farms and to share your own voice with any questions, comments or concerns.  (By the way, let's thanks Dannielle and her family and  Eitan and his family for redoing our neighborhood signs posting this meeting!)

Within Lantern Farms, each of you is the light that brightens our homes.  Bring that light to the meeting this Tuesday April 18 at 7 pm.
