Annual Meeting Report
It has been over a week since our annual meeting and I wanted to
follow up with congratulations, comments and a couple of questions.
First of all, I want to congratulate and thank Carolyn Keuhl, our
Communications Committee Chair for setting up and executing an
excellent remote experience for neighbors who wanted to be part of the
annual meeting but who could not attend due to Covid-19 concerns. She
set this up within a 24-hour period and helped many people stay
connected to an important meeting during this critical time. Thank
you, Carolyn, sincerely.
For those who did attend, we had much participation. I thank those
who stayed involved in the conversations and who provided much-needed
input on important matters, including the Non Rental Amendment,
renewal of our Ray's Trash discounted contract, issues on budget,
landscaping and others factors that enter into the appearance and
ambiance of Lantern Farms.
We are already seeking bids for landscaping partners to help maintain
our beautiful entrance ways on 131st Street and Lantern Rd. We have
specific board members eliciting service to repair broken mailboxes
and we are putting steps into place for other ways to improve the
appearance of our homes.
One thing we can all do is make sure we keep our large, green
dumpsters out of sight as best as possible. Upon a drive thru of our
streets, between 15 and 20 homes had their dumpsters sitting out right
in front of the garage doors all week long. Think how many
opportunities we have to make a first impression when someone drives
by our homes--one. Please do not let a trash dumpster the first thing
people see when they drive by or pull up to your home. Keep them in
the garage or around the back of the home as best as possible.
Please.
Also, we still have about 20 families who have not paid their dues for
2020. We have realized that some families have experienced
difficulties during this year of COVID, however we are wrapping up the
third quarter of 2020 and need to bring in much needed funds for
budgeted items approved for this year. Letters will be going out and
we pray we are able to wrap this up as best as possible. Please reply
with special circumstances so we can discuss solutions.
Lastly, I thank my Lord that I am able to live with such neighbors in
one of the best communities in the world! Think about it. We chose
to live in this community, this neighborhood, this home and have
worked hard to make good choices for our families. We live
side-by-side with neighbors who appreciate who we are and what we are
trying to do. Take time to wave, smile have a short conversation and
savor the light of Lantern Farms.
