Greeting to all friends and neighbors of Lantern Farms. I wanted to give you an update on the transfer of trash service from Ray's Trash to Waste Management.
I have been in contact with Waste Management to raise some concerns. I pointed out it takes repeated calls sometimes to get good service. They promised to improve their customer service. I noted that Ray's used to pick up bags of leaves included with the monthly fee. Waste Management said they do not do that, that there is an extra fee for each bag of leaves. It used to be that not every neighbor had to sign on with Rays Trash in order to get the group discount. Waste Management, just like Republic Services said they need 100% participation in order to get the discounted rate.
They said the normal monthly rate for trash is $19.25 and $8.50 for recycling.
The discounted monthly for trash is $13.75 and $5.50 for recycling. I have until the end of the year to sign the agreement. After that, though, each family needs to decide on their own what they want to do as far as trash service is concerned.
We will also update the notice on the home page of our website to more accurately reflect our relationship and status of trash service with Waste Management.
