The Leaves They Are A-Changing

I gaze out my window, eyes resting upon willowing leaves waving like children to their friends as they get off the big, yellow school bus.  Summer has waved goodbye and autumn's hands wave in a big, welcoming "Hello" to Lantern Farms, one of the brightest lights of all the farms in Fishers.

I work from home and see a lot from my second-story, front bedroom window.  I see the Waste Management trucks come and pick up big green dumpsters.  We had a contract with Ray's Trash for discounted service.  I have been in touch with Waste Management to see about renewing that contract.  Our rates have inched up a bit but fall well below competitor rates.  This is typically a three-year contract.

Speaking of dumpsters, because who wouldn't want to do that, please remember to keep these out of sight as much as possible, preferably in your garage or at the back of the house.  We realize that sometimes the only space is in the side of the house, but please not in the front.  Let's keep our home's curb appeal at its highest during all times.

We have so many beautiful trees in our neighborhood, right now peaking in color and several colorful homes with some pretty scary seasonal decorations.  I have seen some cars stopped in front of these homes.  For that reason and others, please note there is to be no overnight parking of RV's or trailers on the streets or in driveways.

Please enjoy the colorful collections of mums when entering and leaving our neighborhood.  Board Member Cheri has done an excellent job of coordinating the maintenance of our public properties.  And our Vice President Danielle Fuller has announced our Yard of the Week winner is at 13069 Lockburn Place.  It was a difficult decision with so many beautiful homes.  We thank Danielle and her girls for legging it through the neighborhood to find the "Best of the Best" homes.

Brandon and his wife Afton are not only board members but also work as the Architectural Committee, reviewing and approving applications for remodeling and construction to the exterior of your home and for any major landscaping or concrete work on decks, patios and driveways.

Be sure you give a wave to our excellent and accomplished treasurer Nicole and family as you drive by their family of skeletons featured this Halloween Season on Lantern Farms Drive.  We love seeing the seasonal display during October and the weeks prior to and after Halloween.

Eitan and his family lives on the corner of Lantern Farms and Lansdowne Drive and serves as our Secretary, recording notes, meeting minutes and archiving important documents.  He has been invaluable in keeping track of so much that keeps our board running smoothly.

We seven, along with supportive and extremely good-looking committee members, volunteer our time to make Lantern Farms a shining example of "One Fine Neighborhood!"

Thanks to You All, As Well!
