As the sun sets upon a fine Memorial Day weekend, even the birds lament in song, their notes wafting up like bugle blows at day's end. Our blue sky, clear as my granddaughters' eyes is a testament to the peace and freedom our country has, thanks to the Men and Women of our Armed Forces that gave their all and evermore to secure that peace for family, friend and neighbor.
I see the familial harmony walk by my front room window, swaddled in strollers, wheeling bikes and scooters and sipping coffee beneath a parental watchful eye. I hear the strength of our country as planes fly overhead, military keeping a watchful eye and civilians soaring from one destination to another. I feel fortunate to live in such a community that keeps a watchful eye out for each other and gives support and assistance when needed.
I am thankful for all the above and ever thankful for my fellow board members who have worked so hard this past year to help ensure the safety, security and satisfaction of living in one of the best neighborhoods in one of the best cities in one of the best counties in our country. Only with their hard work and the involvement of all of you that we succeed. We have heard from so many who appreciate so many others, giving their all whenever possible.
Thanks to VP Cheri who works so hard on our landscaping projects, Nicole who manages the books and our finances, Peter who coordinates so many activities and duties, Jeff who keeps our notations straight, Hatem who connects us so well to the City of Fishers and Garth who provides practical insight into streets and infrastructure.
And of course, each is a neighbor as well and we all support the neighborhood by funding such projects with our annual dues. Our $200 annual dues are among the lowest in the area and have been kept that way as best as possible. To date we have had 2/3 of the 85 homes step forward with dues in hand by today's due date of May 31, 2021. We look forward to 100% participation and thank each of those who will follow through as well.
It is through all of our support that we thrive as we do. I realize that we all have our blessings and our hardships and we want to be aware of all comments and concerns. Communication is the key to strength in numbers, solidity in our neighborhood and success within our country. As we remember those who paid beyond their dues to protect our American Way of Life, let's recall how wonderful it is to support a Good Life in Lantern Farms.
Prayers to the Fallen and Thanks to My Neighbors,
John Riggio President Lantern Farms Property Owners Association
