To My Family, Friends and Neighbors, (sometimes one in the same)

The winter has finally extended its grip,

With frost and ice and snow.

We head to work or school or store,

With a slide and a slip, please go slow!

But what I also see with this frigid weather,

Is how our neighborhood thrives.

Helping each other get through this together,

Sharing the struggles in our lives.

I’ve seen two different neighbors clearing the drive

Of another friend who is living alone,

And I myself came home from work one day

To find another driveway cleared, my own!

Two boys are building an igloo,

Enjoying the snow as they should,

I smell wood smoke hovering ‘neath the trees

Having a fireplace is nothing but good.

Please remember to shovel the sidewalk

Out in front of your home.

This will help all pedestrians,

Avoid bruises or broken bones.

While we all seek viral immunity,

During these times of difficult stress

Remember it is our Lantern Farms Community

That turns what was our worst into our BEST!

Please Keep the Faith and Stay Safe,

John Riggio  President LFPOA
